Online scientific calculator

Everything a pocket scientific calculator does, in your browser: you see the whole expression as you type it, the result appears live, and 2nd flips every function to its inverse.

You can type with your keyboard: digits, + − × ÷, ^ for powers, ! for factorial, % and parentheses. Enter calculates, Backspace deletes, Escape clears. You can also type functions by name, like sin( or log(.

Frequently asked questions

Which functions does it have?
The basic four with parentheses and order of operations; powers, square and cube roots and roots of any index; x², x³, 1/x, |x| and factorial (also for decimals, through the gamma function); sin, cos, tan and their inverses, the hyperbolic ones and their inverses; ln, log, log₂, eˣ and 10ˣ; combinations nCr and permutations nPr; mod; percent; scientific notation with EXP; π, e, Ans and five memory keys. The 2nd key switches to the inverse functions.
Degrees, radians or gradians?
The DEG key cycles through the three and shows which one is active on the screen. It applies to sin, cos, tan and their inverses; your choice is remembered the next time.
Why does it show the result while I am typing?
So you can see what you are calculating before pressing equals. If the expression is not finished yet, it just waits. Press = when you want to keep the result: it goes to Ans and to the history.
Why do I get 0.3 and not 0.30000000000000004?
Computers store decimals in binary and leave that kind of dust behind. The calculator rounds to twelve significant figures, which is more than a pocket calculator shows, and cleans the trigonometry so sin(180°) is exactly 0.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser, and the history and memory are saved only on this device.
